Week 8 was full of exciting action and some very interesting results. Here are the headlines from this past weekend.

For the second straight week, Shippensburg played without starting QB Chris Lawshe. In his absence, the Raiders created a game plan to run to win. The Raiders threw the ball only five times in the game, completing two passes to Trevor Harman for a total of 10 yards. Can you believe that? Ship threw the ball for just 10 yards. You have to give them credit for adjusting their game plan to suit the talent they had available. They ran the ball 71 times in this game for 390 yards. They ran well and managed to hold on to the ball but the reality is that this game was extremely uncomfortable. Cheyney trailed by just four points at the end of the third quarter and by seven points as late as the five minute mark in the fourth quarter. The Raiders got some breathing room in the last couple of minutes but they really had to work for this one.
