Quick Notes:

The Battle of the Firsts will be televised by Sports Fever Television network and will be available on ESPN3.com.

Two of the worst offensive teams in D2 from last season will battle it out to see who has the better day. Last year, out of 168 D2 teams, Lincoln was 163rd in total offense and Cheyney was 167th. Lincoln was slightly higher up the order in scoring (151) while Cheyney remained at 167. Both teams will be looking to have what should be their best day of the season on Thursday night. Cheyney should be a little more experienced on offense than they were a year ago.

Lincoln is a little better on defense and they have 1,200 yard rusher Stephen Scott back in the lineup. If he has a good night for the Lions, that might be enough. Penalties are usually a big factor in this match up, so if one team can really minimize the negative yardage, it could go a long way towards a winning effort.
