First Quarter
1. Gannon (3-0)2. Edinboro (3-0)
3. IUP (2-0)4. Slippery Rock (3-0)Second Quarter
5. Seton Hill (3-0)
I said in the preseason that I was very interested in keeping an eye on Seton Hill, and here they are at 3-0. They outlasted Bowie State (who was a playoff team last year) in week 1 and won both crossovers. The offense is putting up huge numbers, led by QB Christian Strong who leads the PSAC in total passing yards. The defense is getting a little better each week as well.
Bottom line: If they can come up with some big defensive efforts over the next several weeks, I think they can move the ball on just about anybody.
6. California (2-0)7. Bloomsburg (2-1)8. East Stroudsburg (2-1)Third Quarter
9. Shippensburg (2-1)
The Raiders had problems getting the offense going in the first couple of games but they had a big performance against a struggling Clarion defense last Saturday. They leaned on the running game to help pick up some momentum, and it delivered with 334 yards. This could be the performance they needed to set them on their way for the remainder of the season.
Bottom line: The next two opponents (ESU, LHU) have not shown a ton of muscle on defense, so look for the Raiders to continue to build momentum for their offense.
10. West Chester (1-2)11. Mercyhurst (1-2)12. Clarion (1-2)Fourth Quarter
13. Lock Haven (0-3)14. Millersville (1-2)15. Kutztown (0-3)16. Cheyney (1-2)[email protected] and you can follow me on Twitter @D2Chuck
