CatawbaLenoir-Rhyne also earned an impressive win with a fine performance at home against favored North Greenville. The Bears took advantage of an early turnover to jump out to an early lead and then played with confidence for the rest of the way. Jarrod Kellar had possibly the best performance of his young career and the running game churned out first down after first down to keep NGU from finding a way back into the game.

LimestoneMars Hill was overmatched by North Carolina A&T. The Lions managed to move the ball through the air at times, but were unable to crack the scoreboard. A&T is a very good FCS team so the lopsided loss was not unexpected.

Tusculum put the heartbreaker from week one behind them and turned in a solid performance in the home opener, beating Shorter 39-12. Kicker Isaac Gallagos provided 15 total points, converting 4 of 4 field goal attempts and 3 PATs.

EDIT
I have since learned that as of this season, the NCAA does recognize games against VUL for stats and records. I apologize for the mistake.
