It was going to be a big challenge for UNCP to shake off two weeks of disruptions and win a game against a hot Newberry team with an exceptional defense. The challenges were obvious as they would run for only 56 yards and convert only 3 and 13 third down tries. They had a single drive all night that went for more than 26 yards. The defense played admirably and that may be able to help carry them again this week as they host a Wingate team on a three game skid.
