The Lions came back from a week off and put in one of their more complete performances of the year. The defense stepped up with a really good effort allowing a season best 21 points to UNCP. They held UNCP to just 103 rushing yards and also created three turnovers. WR Tyler Ferguson had one of his best days with 109 yards and two TDs. The Lions are going to finish with a losing record but there is a big difference between 4-6 and 3-7. A fourth win against Newberry would be a great way to end the season, and it will be at home.

How this game plays out depends entirely on how well Carson-Newman practices and what kind of attitude they get off the busses with. If they show up ready to play, they should easily run over UNCP. The Braves have had problems with strong rushing offenses and the Eagles can exploit that. UNCP is also very one dimensional, boasting almost no running game to speak of. The Eagles should be able to take away the run and make the Braves throw the ball. The Eagles have been good at creating turnovers and the Braves have thrown 6 INTs in their last two games.

Carson-Newman should win no matter how it plays out but it should be lopsided if they play their best football.
