Last Week Game of the Week--Fans attending the Albany State University vs. Valdosta State University football game last Saturday were treated to fabulous game between two teams. I am sure these teams are destined for post-season play. Both teams will now concentrate on their conference play for the next eight weeks. The eventual winner of the game would not be known until 1:39 left in the 4th quarter. Valdosta State and Albany State went toe-to-toe the entire night before the Blazers walked away with a narrow 30-27 victory. The crowd was estimated to be over 10,000 the largest crowd for an ASU home game since the 2004 Homecoming as bleachers on both sides of the field were packed, spilling over onto the hills in between. Both schools' bands performed at halftime, eventually combining for a joint performance. Look for these teams to compete for their respective conference titles. Congratulations to my MVPs of the game; VSU (QB) Austen Roberts and ASU Stanley Jennings his offense that ultimately stole the show. Roberts threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns and Jennings threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-36 passing. Hats off to both squads, for a thrilling game.

The rest of the SIAC. Are you kidding me, Tuskegee and Fort Valley State University have not won a game and Clark Atlanta is leading the SIAC. Ok you none believers, the standings will change drastically within the next three weeks. Many fans are discounting FVSU; Head Coach Donald Pittman will rally his squad and join the winners circle this week against a very good Benedict team. As for Tuskegee, they have not played an SIAC team yet and are looking forward to it.

Game of the Week-- Tuskegee University vs. Stillman College

For the last ten years, this game would not have garnered a second look or been the topic of conversation for most TU or Stillman fans. This year is different, Stillman is leading the East Division at 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference. TU has yet to win a game, as they have suffered surprise loses to Langston (NAIA) and Alabama A & M (FCS). The atmosphere over the years has not been kind to SIAC visitors to Abbott Stadium, the location of this week's game of the week. Expect the Golden Tigers to flex their muscle and reestablish themselves as the team to beat in the SIAC East Division. Stillman's program is getting better, though a contender next year.

Tuskegee-41 vs. Stillman-17
Players to watch TU- DeMario Pippen (RB), Terry Bradden (QB) and Jamar Hornsby (DB) Stillman-Chris Mayabb (QB), Damian Ford (WR) and Lakeevis Tabb (DB)

The rest of the Conference Predictions

Fort Valley State University 28 vs. Benedict 21
FVSU finally wins a game, but against a much-improved Benedict team.

Morehouse-30 vs. Lane-6
The story line here is Mr. David Carter, he continues to amass rushing yardage, allowing MH to control the game.

Clark Atlanta- 28 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff-35
Reality sets in and the Panthers are brought down to earth, although it is a close game and after a valiant effort by Clark.

Albany State University-37 vs. Miles-14
Miles always plays ASU tough, this game no different however; the Golden Rams will use this game as a statement game for rest of the conference.

Kentucky State University-29 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan-17
KSU continues to surprise its fans with another win.
