Last Week Games of the Week--Morehouse vs Clark. Morehouse has clearly established its team as one of the teams to beat in the East Division of the SIAC, just ask Clark-Atlanta. The Morehouse offense scored 30 points, while their defense allowed zero points. Clark-Atlanta defense scored 2 points as they recorded a safety. Mr. David Carter (RB) continues to rack up yards for the year as he ran for 148 yards on 17 carries. He is the top rusher in the SIAC and fifth in the nation (Division II) 711 yards in 5 games. I am sure the All-American voters are taking notice of this young man's season. Morehouse has a two-head rushing beast with Mychal Harrison starting to take flight. Harrison rushed for another 57 yards before the reserves entered the game as the game was out of reach by the middle of the 3rd quarter. The defensive stalwarts were Elijah Anderson (LB) with 7 tackles and 2 QB hurries, along with Brandon Houston (LB) as he recorded six tackles and 1.5 TFL.

Tuskegee University vs Fort Valley State University
Tuskegee University finally gets its first win of the season, and not a moment too soon. If TU had lost, many would have counted them out of the SIAC race. Remember TU is the "winningest" HBCU in the nation and have the titles to prove it. Therefore, the team has a plethora of rich traditions and pride. Although the game started out with an initial grim outlook for the Golden Tigers of TU as FVSU's Travis Richmond (RB), burst through the line for a 67-yard touchdown at the 7:16 mark of the first quarter. FVSU led until late in the second quarter when TU Justin Nared (QB) scored on a 2 yard and TU never looked back, even though FVSU would keep the score close. Final score TU 18 vs FVSU 15.

Game of the week, The 76th Meeting (Classic Wise) of Tuskegee University vs Morehouse (more commonly known to the SIAC community as simply "The House"). This game, to include the rest of the SIAC season reminds me of the new commercial with Hall of Famer Deion Sanders (Direct TV) when he says "its own now". Its own now, for the SIAC road to the Championship no mercy. Clearly, this heated rivalry will produce some surprises this year and Head Coach Richard Freeman is ready to take his team to the next level, a win here will prove that. Historically, the TU Golden Tigers have dominated this series with a record of 66 wins, 27 losses and 1 tie, but 76 years of a Classic is just awesome. While it is always a hard-hitting affair, Morehouse will deliver the hits rather than take them as in years pass. This will be a smash-mouth football game from the first whistle to the last whistle. Morehouse is destin for post-season play this year, mark my word. A new SIAC powerhouse emerges Morehouse 35 vs Tuskegee 14.

Players to watch Morehouse: David Carter (RB), Byron Ingram (WR), Donnay Ragland (QB), Elijah Anderson (LB), Brandon Houston (LB), Charlie Wilson (LB), and Justin Oliver (DB).
Players to watch: - TU DeMario Pippen (RB), Terry Bradden (QB), Miles Robinson (TE), Isaiah Peterson and Jamar Hornsby (DB)

The rest of the SIAC. Stillman continues to look strong in the West Division while Tuskegee chances of making the Championship game is dwindling each week. Albany State and Morehouse are positioning themselves for a slugfest on October 15 in the "Good Life City", should both win this weekend.

The rest of the Conference Predictions:

Fort Valley State University 22 vs. Kentucky State University 35
FVSU is looking for their identity, while KSU lights of the scoreboard.

Albany State University 40 vs Lane 0
ASU has another juggernaut outing, scoring at will registering their first shut out of the season.

Stillman College 27 vs Benedict College 10
Stillman flexes their muscle in the West SIAC Division at home against a much weaker Benedict team.

Clark-Atlanta19 vs Miles-22
Miles surprises the panthers with a hard fought game; it is Clark-Atlanta's homecoming.
