The Pioneer Bowl is a bowl game between football teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference between two historically black colleges and universities (HBCU). It is one the only NCAA Division II sanctioned bowl game.

Tuskegee University has made the most appearances at the Pioneer Bowl with a total of nine times. Tuskegee has also won the most Pioneer Bowls with seven wins.

One of the easiest games I ever had to predict is the 14th Annual Pioneer Bowl in Columbus, GA this Saturday at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium (1P.M.EST). Make no mistake, on paper Tuskegee University overwhelms the Vikings of Elizabeth City State University (CIAA-Runner-ups). Games are not played on paper though. The game will boil down to whichever star running back is more successful than the other. I am referring to none other than Harlon Hill Trophy candidate and SIAC Player of the Year Mr. Derrick Washington and All-CIAA top rusher Mr. Daronte McNeill a 6-2' 220lbs (over 1,197 yds) a bruising style type runner.

The team that establishes the running game will win going away. This year Washington has placed himself into the stratosphere of running backs in HBCU Football. Head Coach Willie Slater has the Golden Tigers back on top. Tuskegee has the swagger (def: to walk or conduct oneself with an insolent or arrogant air; strut) of old. The plus for ECSU is that they play as a TEAM, this will make the game interesting for the first half, as it will be close the first half. TU will pull away during the 3rd quarter and win going away.

Prediction Tuskegee University 46 Elizabeth City State University 15
