thSecond Round Playoff Previews
The remaining teams in Super Region 3 include both MIAA teams and two teams abbreviated HSU that have running backs with the first name JaQuan. The two matchups this week feature games between one of each of those pairs. A Hornet win would make them the 5th MIAA team to make the regional finals, and if both MIAA teams can get the wins, it will be an all MIAA Super Regional Final for the fifth time since the playoffs expanded in 2004.
Emporia St. (10-2) at Henderson St. (11-1) 1PMthth in D2), but they excel at keeping the other team from scoring, allowing only 14.8 points per game, which puts them 3rd in the country. The unit allowed 422 yards against Sioux Falls, but came up big when it needed to, including a game clinching interception in the endzone that could have given the Cougars the lead in the final minute of the game. Interestingly enough, the Reddies do not get to the QB all that often (only 13 sacks-161stth in D2) and that is not good against a Hornet offense that is ranked 14th in the country in converting 3rdHumboldt St. (10-1) at Northwest Missouri St. (11-0) 1PMst out of 170 teams in red zone defense, allowing points at just over 90% of the time teams get into the red zone. That being said, opponents have only gotten to the red zone a paltry 19 times, second best in the country behind Shepherd.
The Lumberjack defense has had a solid year, and dominated a very good offense last week. They are particularly good against the run, only allowing 109 yards per game. The Bearcat running game has certainly improved from the beginning of the season, and that improvement will need to continue, as the team is ranked at 104th

But, I think you will be right.
Now we face Emporia for a second time this season. In coach speak, "It is hard to beat the same team twice in one season." I'm afraid they are not the same team, mentally, that we saw four weeks ago. Hope to see a much bigger and louder crowd this Saturday.
