Washburn graduate Mike Racy was recently named MIAA Commissioner, and will take the reigns from Dr. Bob Boerigter, who is retiring effective January 31, 2017.

Boerigter was elemental in bringing the Football Championship to Kansas City, and Racy has worked for the NCAA for over twenty years, fourteen of which as the NCAA Division II Vice President. It will be interesting to see what Racy will bring to the table in the near future (addressing the Stretch Internet issues would be a fantastic start!), but at first glance, it seems like a very good hire for the conference.

#3Ian Carlson commented09-08-2016, 11:41 AMEditing a commentYou know, I was thinking when I was writing that Southern had beaten them recently, so I was looking back. I purposely skipped 2012 when looking back because I didn't think the year they won the MIAA would have been the year I was thinking about. Go figure.

#4NW Normal commented09-09-2016, 10:38 AMEditing a commentSeems the unstable conditions in northeastern Oklahoma last Saturday are still being felt in MIAA football. Pitt avoided an 0-2 start by finishing strong at Edmonds, leaving UCO at 0-2, while in Talhequah, the Riverhawks drove 98 yards to prevent Lindenwood from going 2-0, leaving both teams at 1-1. "Shakin', Shakin', Shakes." Los Lobos.
