In a matchup between the longest tenured head coaches in the conference, this one turned out to be the closest game of the day. The Griffons were able to hold on for the win in St. Charles behind a balanced offensive attack that resulted in over 500 yards of offense, as Skyler Windmiller threw for 266 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, and Josh Caldwell racked up 184 yards on 28 carries. The Lions ran the ball well against the Griffon defense, taking a 13-7 lead on two touchdown runs by Aaron Daniels, who finished with 120 yards on the day. Windmiller answered when he connected on a couple of his touchdown passes on consecutive drives to put the Griffons up 20-13. The Lions intercepted Windmiller on his next drive, and QB Allen Thigpen tied the game back up on an 11 yard touchdown run 3 plays later. Thigpen, who went the distance at QB for the Lions, was limited to just 121 yards passing and an interception, but gashed the Griffon defense for 108 net yards rushing despite being sacked 4 times. The Griffons led at halftime 27-23, and both teams made good defensive adjustments at the break, as neither team would score in the 3rdrd passing TD of the day, and the defense only allowed one first down on the last two Lion drives to preserve the win.

Pittsburg State 41th TD pass of the day, but that would be the closest they would get. Roderique threw for 301 yards and added another 37 on the ground, but was overshadowed by Mezera, whose 446 yards passing and 62 yards rushing helped him to the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week.

They've faced the 7th most passes, have allowed the 2nd highest completion percentage, but in the sentence before that I pointed out they have given up the 2nd least amount of passing yards. High completion% with low yardage indicates lower yards per play.
