You're right. I understand why ESU is ahead of APU: they have more in-region wins. I don't agree with that distinction, because, when you get down to it, APU 's win over WT is just as impressive as ESU's win over Pitt.
Still, when it comes to looking at "quality wins," which seems to be something the comm. is looking at, ESU has a win over a 6-2 UCM team, while APU's best win is over a 5-1 team. Since the comm. seems to be putting a premium on wins, I can see how they came to that conclusion.
Fantastic Info! One reason I believe Emporia State is ranked favorably is due to quality wins on the road (vs. Central Missouri and Pitt State) - two very difficult places to win. Only loss is to Northwest Missouri, who is #1 for obvious reasons... outstanding on both sides of the ball and special teams. Huge game this week vs. Fort Hays State.
