This coming weekend has a 4-game schedule with everyone playing each other and 1 non-LSC matchup between WT and McMurry.
Thoughts around the LSC:
Things were shaken up this week. We have zero undefeated teams left in the Lone Star Conference. There are several good games this week. Currently, there are three teams ranked in the D2football.com and AFCA poll: #9/16 West Texas A&M, #19/18 Midwestern State and #24/23 Tarleton State.

There are several good games across the LSC with one nonconference matchup on the agenda. On the ranked teams, the first number is D2football ranking and 2nd number is AFCA ranking. We have several big games this weekend. The LSC teams are still battling for supremacy. One thing is a fact is that the teams this season in the LSC are more competitive and are making it more difficult to run the table in the LSC. The gap of separation has really been filled in and any team can be beaten each week. I truly believe that this season has really been atypical compared to the past 5 years. Crazy things continue to happen each week and the norm is straight out the window. I think that is a good thing because it shows just how tough it is in the Lone Star Conference.
#19/18 Midwestern State (5-1) (2-1) v. Angelo State (2-5) (0-3) Saturday, 6 p.m. Kickoff
San Angelo, TX San Angelo Stadium
Prediction: Midwestern State 35 Angelo State 28
McMurry (1-6) v. #9/16 West Texas A&M (6-1) (3-1) Saturday, 2 p.m. Kickoff
Abilene, TX Wilford Moore Stadium
The West Texas buffaloes have continued to have a tough time adjusting. They are trying to get their offensive scheme back to the norm and moving the ball down the field. They will face a struggling McMurry team that has given up a significant amount of yards on the ground and especially through the air. WT should be able to win this game with ease. They will also be able to run the ball better than they have all season. This could be a good thing because they need to work on the run game, as much as possible. I suspect the buffs will have several big plays down the field. McMurry would throw the ball every down if they could. I suspect that McMurry will score several TDs because WT has given a substantial amount of yards through the air with 1,739 yards.
Prediction: West Texas A&M 45 McMurry 28
Texas A&M Kingsville (2-4) (0-3) v. Eastern New Mexico (3-3) (1-1) Saturday, 4 p.m. CST Kickoff
Portales, NM Blackwater Draw - Greyhound Stadium
Texas A&M Kingsville takes the journey to Blackwater Draw. The Javelinas will see if they can take on the hot ENMU hounds. They have a tough test a head of them. ENMU is giving up 1,000 plus yards in both the passing and rushing categories. The hounds do not typically have the upper hand against Kingsville often; but I think this year is different. I think ENMU will have the advantage because Kingsville is giving up a whopping 1,515 yards on the ground and all that ENMU does is run the ball. They literally threw only 7 passes last week. They may try to do the same this week, since the Javelinas have failed to stop the run. The difference maker in this game? The ENMU run game is very potent and had 2 rushers that went over the century mark last week.
Prediction: Eastern New Mexico 35 Texas A&M Kingsville 21
Game of the Week: Texas A&M Commerce (5-2) (1-2) v. #24/23 Tarleton State (5-1) (4-0) Saturday, 6 p.m. Kickoff
Stephenville, TX Memorial StadiumndPrediction: Tarleton State 42 Texas A&M Commerce 38
