McMurry Football Season Preview
We start next with the War hawks. The LSC loses one Abilene team and picked up another Abilene team. Unfortunately, this will be the only season that McMurry plays in the LSC.

Head Coach: Lance Hinson
Returning Starters:
The War Hawk Offense have 6 offensive starters returning from last season.
The War Hawk Defense have 6 defensive starters returning from last season.
The Hounds Offense: Pro Style Offense with some spread concepts
The Hounds Defense: 3-3 Stack
2014 McMurry Schedule:
Sept. 6 @ Houston Baptist
Sept. 20 @ Angelo State
Sept. 27 v. Texas A&M Kingsville
Oct. 4 @ WTAMU
Oct. 11 v. ENMU
Oct. 18 @ Midwestern State
Oct. 25 v. Tarleton State
Nov. 1 @ Texas A&M Commerce
Nov. 8 - LSC Playoff
Nov. 16 - LSC Playoff
The War Hawks have a very difficult road ahead of them for this season. First, they have 5 road games that are a gauntlet of teams. The team will be pushed to the test. Plus, they will have to win a lot of games in the season to even have a chance at a home game in the LSC playoffs. The War Hawks have probably the worst road schedule in the LSC.
Opening up at FCS Houston Baptist, in their new stadium, should be a great atmosphere for our team. The LSC is going to be very competitive, whoever wins this is going to really earn it. This conference has always been one of the best in the nation, this year will be no different.
Thoughts on the Upcoming Season:
I think this will be a hard season for the War Hawks. The team will need to develop early on both sides of the ball fast, in order to have a chance. Plus, have some luck roll their way. McMurry struggled last season with their LSC foes and I expect the same this season. I think that it will be a difficult task to get back to their 3-8 season. The least difficult foe is an undeveloped Houston Baptist team and they play them at Houston in week 1. Can this team get their team chemistry together early and pull some upsets? Can they be a big foe in the LSC? Will they do better than 3-8?
My condolences to the family, friends, McMurry Athletic Family and Football Team with the passing of Running Back Billy Cole III in a tragic automobile accident. I have put his picture in this blog post in illustration of his memory.Tags: None
