Week 2 Recaps and Review:
Week 3 Previews and Predictions:
This week of course is the LSC Festival. The Festival has several good matchups and should be a great slate of games for all those heading to Arlington to watch.
McMurry (1-0) v. Angelo State (1-0), Saturday, 7 p.m. Kickoff
Prediction: Angelo State 35 McMurry 17
Florida Tech (2-0) v. Tarleton State (1-0), Saturday, 5 p.m. Kickoff
Prediction: Tarleton State 50 Florida Tech 21
Shorter (2-0) v. West Texas A&M (0-2), Saturday, 1 p.m. Kickoff
Prediction: West Texas A&M 40 Shorter 24
Texas A&M Commerce (1-1) v. Texas A&M Kingsville (1-1), 10 a.m. Kickoff
Arlington, TX, AT&T Stadium
The Javelinas come off a close win over Colorado Mesa, while the Lions come off a loss to Division 1 SFA. Both teams need a win here to open LSC play in the right direction. The Lions have a lot of offensive fire power and the Javelinas will have to put some good drives together against a good Lion defense. Mitchell will need as much protection as possible against a good Lion defensive line. I just think with the Javelinas having trouble scoring a lot of points that they will have a difficult time keeping up in this game. Plus, I think the Lion defensive line will get to Mitchell several times. The Javelinas will have to put up some good passing numbers and have their defense to get several three-and-outs to stop the Lions and win the game.
Prediction: Texas A&M Commerce 35Texas A&M Kingsville 14
Game of the Week: Eastern New Mexico (2-0) v. Midwestern State (1-0), Saturday, 8 p.m. Kickoff
Arlington, TX AT&T Stadium
What a great game for game of the week. I know both teams remember this game very well last season. Bill Maskel even talked about this game at media day and said that they Hounds simply kicked their butts. Two very respected coaches going at it in AT&T stadium, trying to start the LSC play with a win.
The Hounds have an impressive opponent 49 rushing yards. They have shut the run down in both of their games. They will have to continue that success against the Mustangs. However, they have given up 500 plus passing yards. The Mustangs were very balance last week and will need to rely on that same approach coming into this game.
Maskill and the Mustangs will be fired up for this game. Look for these two teams to go the distance with one another with only one emerging on top!!!
Prediction: Eastern New Mexico 28 Midwestern State 25

#7Wonderinghog commented09-23-2014, 07:47 AMEditing a commentIt is apparent we are being outperformed not only on the field, but the recruiting department too. TAMUK's QB woes just didn't start this season. It goes back a couple of seasons when inconsistent play at QB was an issue. Having said that, Calloway and his staff knew when he took over this position needed the utmost attention. Sadly, results speak for themselves.

#8Wonderinghog commented09-23-2014, 07:51 AMEditing a commentThe excuse I see on the message board is Calloway should be given a chance to see his recruits do their thing. Did they forget he was on the staff when all of these red flags were flapping in the wind? And it's just not QB where we are lacking quality, you can go across the board on both sides of the ball and see areas where we are flat out being manhandled.

#9Wonderinghog commented09-23-2014, 07:51 AMEditing a commentWe looked like boys playing among me the other day against Commerce as we have against many in the LSC the last two to three seasons. I hope our gravestone is not being carved out, because if something radical is not done, then this once great program will never live again. That is just a fact.
