Coach Gaskamp Comments about their 2016 Schedule:
We might struggle some in the first half of the season, but the guys here at Panhandle State are incredibly resilient and they will play hard. If we can stay healthy we will be a much improved football team after the first month of the season.

We are extremely excited about joining the LSC. We have an absolute brutal schedule with 5 of our first 6 games on the road. We will have to develop some young guys earlier, especially on defense where we lost 8 senior starters during the first half of the season so that we can continue to improve and be a better football team the 2nd half of the year.

Thoughts on the Upcoming Season:
The Aggies did lose their great running back last season and several other key players, with the defense taking the biggest hit. Luckily, they return an experienced offensive unit that is led by Senior QB Shane Truelove. He will need all the help that he can get on the offense with RB Rod Moore carrying the ball and being able to get the ball into the hands of Devyn Williams. I like the offense for the Aggies and think they will be able to put up plenty of points this season. Shane Truelove loves to make plays on the run, while extending plays out. Look for him to get plenty of yards in the air and running the ball.

The Aggies will have to deal with trying to stop the potent offenses in the LSC. In my mind, this will be their greatest challenge. The defense will be tested week-in and week-out. I am suspect that they will be able to stand their ground against the opponents in the LSC. I think that Defensive Coordinator Eric Daniels will have his work cut out for him this season.

    UAPB QB Brandon Duncan led the team in passing (119 yards and 0 INTs) and rushing (35 yards) last week. While the UAPB defense gave-up 461 total yards. However, going back to the defense issue for OPSU, they gave up 668 yards to SHSU. Not good for either team. They were able to muster 366 yards on the SHSU Bearcats, though.
