To the LSC Radio crews calling the games, keep up the good work. We are out there listening.

The news is out that OPSU is planning to participate in every sport with the NAIA. Here we go again, a team comes into the LSC (football) and they leave the next season. This is starting to become a trend that we do not need in LSC football. First, the Oklahoma schools leave; then, McMurray joins and leaves; now, OPSU joins for their first season and now leaves. Is the LSC cursed and tainted? Well, I hope not; but, the track record lately is nothing to brag about.

Here is the full story for the reasoning behind OPSU heading to the NAIA:

I wish them the best and look forward to heading up there on Saturday to see them play Commerce.

Week 5 Previews and Predictions:

#7 Midwestern State (3-0) v. Western New Mexico (2-2), 1:30 p.m. Kickoff

Silver City, NM

The Mustangs played on Sunday last week due to a lightning delay. They also went in tied at halftime to the OPSU Aggies at 21-21. They came out in the 2nd half in the mid-3rd quarter to finally get things going and put some points on the board in their favor. The takeaway? They allowed 446 total yards; however, last week a lot of LSC teams gave up more yards than they typically do. Must have been something going around last week.

Prediction: Midwestern State 41 WNMU 25

Angelo State (1-3) v. Texas A&M Kingsville (2-2), 7 p.m. Kickoff
Kingsville, TX

These 2 teams have gone in complete opposite directions. The word is out that the Rams will start their 3rd string QB this week. To be honest, I have not seen the Rams struggle this bad in quite some time. They have thrown 10 INTs and have 9 lost fumbles, for a total of 19 turnovers on the season. Not even the best teams in the world can win games with those types of statistics in turnovers. The defense has played very well at times, with 33 TFLs for the season; having DE Markus Jones lead the way with 7.5 TFLs. It is just difficult to win with inconsistent QB play and such a large turnover margin.
Once again, the Javelinas were literally inches away or 2 points away from pulling out a critical win under Daren Wilkinson. To say that Midwestern and Commerce both barely skated by the Javelinas would be the understatement of the year. I have not seen this Javelina offense be the wrecking force that it has been in some time. November 12, 2012. What is the significance of this date? I will tell you in the game analysis.
Game Analysis: The game this week for the Rams does not get any easier against a talented Javelina offense. They are hungry for that win, as they have gone through the top 2 LSC foes in the start of their conference schedule. November 12, 2012 was the last LSC conference game that the Javelinas won against ENMU.
After Saturday, no one will remember the date of November 12, 2012.
November 12, 2012 is a date of the past and the streak comes to an end this week in a big way.
Javelinas roll past the Rams.
Prediction: Texas A&M Kingsville 40 Angelo State 17

UT-Permian Basin (2-2) v. Tarleton State (1-3), 7 p.m. Kickoff

Stephenville, TX

The Texans are coming off a close loss to West Texas in a back and forth game that was certainly in their grasp the entire time. The offense is finally looking like what they should have at the beginning of the season. I would say that TSU is one of the best 1-3 teams in the nation, if not the best. The offense put up 428 yards on a good WT defense that has been great. The TSU passing game surged ahead last week with 368 passing yards, while WR Bubba Tandy and Jeff Thomas both reached the century mark in yardage. The defense is not quite there but it is certainly better than last season, no doubts on that. QB Zed Woerner has also looked really good in the passing game, only missing 11 passes last week, certainly a big playmaker for the Texans.

Game Analysis: The Falcons will have a tough time slowing down this potent and juggernaut Texans offense. I expect another passing spectacle from the Texans as they cruise on by the Falcons.
Texans at home...

Prediction: Tarleton State 49 UTPB 23

#8 Texas A&M Commerce (3-0) v. OK Panhandle State (1-3), 1 p.m. Kickoff

Goodwell, OK

The Aggies had some good opportunities to beat Midwestern last week in a Sunday affair game. They went into halftime with a tie and kicked a field goal to take the lead out of the half. Then it was all MSU. QB Shane Truelove is clearly a big part of this team, as he tries to do it all for the Aggies. It always seems that he leaves everything that he has on the field. The Aggies are still just struggling defensively to make the difference that matters in these games. Be it injuries or trying to stop an opponent, they must be able to step up and make some stops. Giving up over 400 yards a game does not win games in this league. They did do well corralling QB Quade Coward from running; however, he gouged the Aggies in the passing game. This week gets no better for the Aggies, against the league-leading Commerce Lions.
The Commerce game last week against Kingsville was truly remarkable in good and bad ways. The Lions should not have let all the craziness happen at the end of the game. However, with a 4th
Game Analysis: We saw some weaknesses in the Lions armor last week. Now, how can they rebound from a scare last week? That is the question. They get to work on some things this week that they clearly flopped on, like the passing defense. Look for the Aggies to have difficulty stopping the Lions, on the majority of their drives. I expect many deep balls from the Lions to air it out and make the big play on the Aggies, multiple times.

Prediction: Texas A&M Commerce 52 OPSU 21

Game of the Week: West Texas A&M (3-1) v. Eastern New Mexico (2-2), 7 p.m. Kickoff

Portales, NM

ENMU had an interesting game last week against Angelo State. The Hounds scored all their points in the first half to cruise on past, while the Rams scored all their points in the 4th

Well, the Buffs defense showed to have some issues last week giving up 428 yards to the Texans and the offense threw up 2 INTs. Fortunately, a few turnovers turned their way and the passing game was able to get going for 356 yards. The Buffs were able to come up with a butter ball fumble by the Texans for a scoop and score by LB Carter James, which really shifted the momentum. The running game had improved efficiency last week and still needs to continue to progress if they want to beat Commerce, MSU or even Kingsville. This week will be interesting to see how the defense steps up after giving up their most amount of yardage all season. Will they rebound or will they bust?

Prediction: West Texas A&M 34 ENMU 27
