th game, and the CIAA Championship game.

All-Conference Selections

The CIAA released its all-conference teams this year.
Congrats to everyone who made the list.

They also deserved some recognition. Here is my All-Snubbed Team:

All Lee did was average 118 rushing yards per game, second only to Virginia Union RB William Stanback.Last year, he was snubbed from the all-conference first team and this year he was left off all together. Absolute travesty.
Granted, Boyd had less receiving yards than Ransom (709 vs 576). Yet, Boyd scored more TDs than Ransom did (7 vs 3), and that makes a difference on a struggling offense. How both got snubbed for Fayetteville State WR Gedari Liverman, who only had one touchdown reception this year and plays in a less productive passing offense, is really confusing to me.

Virginia Union QB Shawheem Dowdy: All three QBs on the All-Conference list were very deserving for what they were able to do this year. Dowdy passed for 22 touchdowns this year operating primarily as a pocket QB.He also was third in passing yards per game.I suspect that he probably would have gotten the honorable mention tag had he played a 10th game (he was hurt and sat out one game). He got better as his career went on. The coaching staff and his hard work really improved his game. Dowdy hangs up his collegiate cleats having broken some VUU records.

Are I and the conference both looking at the same statistics?

The CIAA helps out its SIAC brethren

For the second year in a row, someone not in the championship game picked up an 11th game. This year, Virginia State (8-2) is traveling to Tuskegee (8-1) in an almost defacto, now defunct Pioneer Bowl. Tuskegee needed a 10th game just to qualify for the playoffs and was put in a jam after rival Albany State backed out of what appears to be a verbal agreement. This is a wonderful bonus game. This battle is a game of strengths. The Trojans average 281 yards a game on the ground whereas the Golden Tigers allow only 95 a game rushing. Tuskegee , is lead by Senior QB Kevin Lacey, is stronger in the air, as they average 203 yards passing. I expect this to be a grind it out kind of game.

CIAA Championship Game

Bowie is a much better team offensively than they were at this point last year. The Bulldogs lead the conference in points scored, passing offense, and total yards. In contrast, WSSU gives 18 points a game and 313 total yards a game, with 180 of those yards through the air.WSSU is a better team offensively too. WSSU is scoring more this year (nearly 30 points a game), and that average should be higher if you take into account how often they get to the redzone and stall out.

There are two questions to answer in this game:
Can Bowie get up early and stay there?
C
an WSSU score touchdowns in the redzone.
I mention these two questions because both offenses have a tendency to fall into lulls and stall out.

I feel like we have been here before.
Last year, WSSU played to keep this game close and pulled that off. Bowie dared Tinsley to throw and he delivered for the Rams. WSSU had to defend the pass game well and here they are having to do the same again.

Playoff Outlook
In either event, look for the Championship game winner to make the playoffs. The CIAA should get into the 6th or 7th seed depending on how the other conferences finish. If LIU-Post can beat Assumption again, then I can forsee the CIAA getting the sixth seed.rd seed. th seed at that point (since seeds 3 and 6 play each other in the first round), so that could drop them to 7th and the CIAA into 6th. If Assumption wins, that would probably result in Post going to 5th, Assumption to 3rd, and the CIAA into 7th

Fun times we live in. Follow me on twitter at @d2kferg for lots of updates.
I hope to see you at the championship game.
