#14/19 Bowie St (6-0) @ Virginia State (5-0)

The winner of this game over the past five years has gone on to represent the Northern Division in the conference championship game. This is an amazing game that should be full of offense and whoever has the ball last could be the winner.

Last week:This week:Prediction: Winston-Salem State (4-2) @ St. Augustine's (2-4):

Last week: This week:Chowan (2-4) @ Virginia Union (4-2):

Last week: Virginia Union put up 28 second quarter points and 45 total points in its win over Lincoln (PA). Darius Taylor had three passing TDs, and P Jefferson Souza played the field position well with a 68 yard punt. Penalties reared their ugly head for the Panthers, who had 12 of them for a staggering 151 yards. Not unsurprisingly, Chowan struggled against Bowie State. Michael Offutt, Jr did have 104 yards rushing, but the Hawks only had 111 yards passing. Not good for an offense built on the pass.

This week: Livingstone (0-6) @ Shaw (2-4):

Last week:This week: If last week is any indication, this game could be full of weird coaching decisions. This battle of the Bears feature teams are remarkably similar on offense, as they are nearly identical in total yards (269 for Livingstone, 265 for Shaw). Both teams are very inconsistent in the pass game. Thus, look for both to use the run to attempt to establish the pass. Neither defense is adept at stopping offenses, so this could another game in which they both roll up lots of yards. One edge for Livingstone is that they lead the conference in interceptions (nine) and punishes teams on those returns. Nonetheless, look for some sort of untimely turnover from Livingstone, because it seems to always happen.

Prediction: Shaw over Livingstone

Fayetteville State (2-4) @ Johnson C. Smith (0-6):

Last week: FSU squandered a lead in the fourth quarter before escaping Shaw (again) via a last second field goal by David Lamb. The Broncos converted a blistering 62 percent of third down conversions in the win. Uncharacteristically, the Broncos managed a measly 2.3 yards a carry. True Freshman QB Richard Latimer led the way in the air, while defensive leader Seth Johnson was ejected for targeting. JCSU dropped its third straight game by a touchdown or less last week against WSSU. The Golden Bulls only converted one of six on third down, but an amazing five of seven on fourth down. JCSU actually out gained WSSU by 33 yards. KR Desmond Dozier had a 97 yard kickoff return, the longest in JCSU history.

This week:Lincoln (PA) (0-6) @ Elizabeth City State (3-3)
