Southern Connecticut running back Rashaad Slowley is one of the nine finalists named yesterday for the Harlon Hill Award. It is awarded each year to the top Division II football player in the country.
The only winner from a New England school was New Haven running back Roger Graham way back in 1993. The last time a SR1 team won the award was in 2005 when East Stroudsburg quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger was named the best player in the country.
