I will be previewing all of the NE-10 football teams over the next 10 days. I will roll out each team in my preseason poll from # 10 to # 1. The NE-10 released their preseason coaches poll on August 25th.

The season starts on September 4th when defending champ American International travels to Assumption to open the 2014 campaign.

Here is the my pick for #2 in the league in 2014:

2013 Stats

2014 Roster

The Bentley Falcons have a new man in charge but he is very familiar with the success of the program. Bill Kavanaugh is the third head coach for Bentley and is hoping to get the Falcons back on top of the NE-10. He has plenty of experienced players who are hungry to end their careers on top.

The offense will have graduate student Danny Guadagnoli back under center. He had a recording breaking 2013 season and is hoping to continue the success in 2014. He will be targeting senior Jeff Hill a lot as the two combined for 75 catches and 12 touchdowns a year ago. Junior receivers Chris Walsh and Chris Calvanese will also help the Falcons in the passing game. Senior Lorenzo Warren is also back after missing most of 2013 with an injury. He will team with fellow classmate Jet Kollie in the backfield whom led the Falcons in rushing last year. The Bentley offensive line is also solid and will be anchored by senior Jack Donovan.

The defense also sees a lot of familiar faces with plenty of experience. Senior Blaine Hopwood will be the leader from his linebacking position. He was injured last year and is eager to make his final season one of his best. Fellow classmate Kyle Young will also patrol the middle of the field for the Falcons. The secondary will be anchored by senior Nick McCarthy. He led the Falcons in tackles last year and was second in interceptions. Senior Brad Keirstead and junior Emmitt Smith will also be in charge of the opposing passing game and limiting big plays. Senior Bob Richman and junior Jeff Amell will play vital role on the defensive line and pressuring the quarterback.

Head coach Bill Kavanaugh knows the Bentley tradition and is going to have his team ready to play every week. The Falcons have the experience to win the league with many key players back. They have experience in all facets of the game and will be a team that opponents will have trouble matching up against.
