The forecast for Saturday in New England is rain, windy and snow showers. Just a typical November weekend and perfect weather for football. Two weeks left in the regular season and a lot still needs to be determined for championship weekend.

Stonehill (3-5, 3-4 NE-10) @ St. Anselm (5-3, 4-3 NE-10)

When: November 1st, 12:00 PM

All-Time Series: Stonehill leads the series, 10-5-0

My Thoughts: Two teams that are heading the wrong way.

Stonehill struggled on offense last week and dropped a home game to Southern Connecticut 17-14. The Skyhawks struggled moving the ball as they only had one offensive touchdown. The defense continued to play well as they only allowed one touchdown and a field goal. For Stonehill to win on the road, they will need to find a way to move the ball consistently. The defense will need to continue their solid play and not allow St. Anselm to make big plays.

St. Anselm dropped their third straight game on the road to Assumption 31-7. The Hawks struggled in all facets of the game and are nothing like the team that started 5-0. They are not playing with confidence and are struggling to execute the game plan right now. For St. Anselm to win the game, they will need to play with confidence. They have plenty of play makers and they need to make plays.

Both teams need a solid effort to turn around their fortunes. So with a trophy on the line, someone will need to step up and make some plays. Defense will win the game and Stonehill has the better unit.

Prediction: Stonehill 20 St. Anselm 17

New Haven (5-3, 5-2 NE-10) @ Pace (0-8, 0-7 NE-10)

When: November 1st, 12:00 PM

All-Time Series: New Haven leads the series, 5-0-0

My Thoughts: Two teams headed in opposite directions.

New Haven won their fifth straight game as they easily defeated Merrimack 42-14 last weekend. The Chargers scored on their first four possessions and never looked back. After struggling to open the season, New Haven is playing like a top tier team and has a shot at playing for a championship in a couple of weeks. For New Have to win on the road, they will need to continue their solid play. They will need to move the ball on offense and not allow Pace to make plays when they have the ball.

Pace fell on the road to Bentley by the score of 31-0. The Setters dropped their eighth game of the season and were shut out for the third straight game. Pace continues make some plays but not enough to string them together for long stretches of the game. This is a young team that is continuing to learn how to play together. For Pace to win the game, they will need to make plays and move the ball on the ground. The defense will need to limit the big play and not allow New Haven to move the ball with ease.

New Haven is peaking at the right time of the season and will continue their winning ways.

Prediction: New Haven 42 Pace 7

LIU Post (5-3, 5-2 NE-10) @ Southern Connecticut (2-6, 2-5 NE-10)

When: November 1st, 12:00 PM

All-Time Series: Southern Connecticut leads the series, 13-10-0

My Thoughts: This rivalry always produces good games.

LIU Post fell to AIC 27-24 last weekend and dropped into a three way tie for second place. The Pioneers allowed a late touchdown but almost pulled another late second victory. Post got to the 20 yard line before a game tying field goal went wide left. It is the latest game for them this year that came down to the final whistle. For Post to win on the road, they will need take control of the game early. Their balanced offensive attack needs to control the clock and the defense needs to make third down stops.

Southern Connecticut used a stellar defensive effort to beat Stonehill 17-14 on the road. The Owls held Stonehill in check the entire game and then the defense picked off a pass and scored for the winning margin. Southern continues to play well defensively as they have limited the opposing offenses but still needs the offense to score when given the opportunity. For Southern Connecticut to win the game, they will need to limit the big play capability of the Post offense and not allow them to control the game. They will need to grind out yards on the ground to keep their defense fresh.

Post has their sights set on the playing in the NE-10 title game in two weeks and need to win out for that chance. They will bounce back on the road and keep those hopes alive.

Prediction: Post 35 Southern Connecticut 13

Bentley (3-5, 2-5 NE-10) @ Assumption (5-3, 5-2 NE-10)

When: November 1st, 1:00 PM

All-Time Series: Bentley leads the series, 34-8-1

My Thoughts: The records used to be reversed when they met.

Bentley took care of business with a 31-0 victory over Pace. The Falcons have now won two games in a row after dropping the previous five in a row. The Bentley offense continues to move the ball and get the ball into the end zone with ease. The defense is playing much better as they have allowed just seven points over the past two weeks. For Bentley to win on the road, they will need to continue to move the ball through the air. The defense will need to get stops and allow the Falcon offense to control the clock.

Assumption finished out their perfect October with a 31-7 demolishing of St. Anselm last Friday night. The Greyhounds played superior defense and held the top ranked offense in the league in check the entire night. The offense continued their solid play and mixed the run and pass to perfection. Assumption has played themselves into a second place tie with great play on both sides of the ball. For Assumption to win the game, they will need to continue their defensive dominance. When the offense has the ball, they will need to play mistake free and finish the end zone when given the chance.

Assumption will find a way to slow down the Bentley passing game and continue their winning ways.

Prediction: Assumption 31 Bentley 21

American International (6-2, 6-1 NE-10) @ Merrimack (3-5, 3-4 NE-10)

When: November 1st, 1:00 PM

All-Time Series: AIC leads the series, 13-5-0

My Thoughts: This game always features a lot of action.

AIC took control of the NE-10 with a last second victory at LIU Post last Saturday by the score of 27-24. The Yellow Jackets drove the field in the last four minutes to push the winning touchdown into the end zone. The defense then made a couple of plays late to preserve the victory. AIC controls their own destiny to host the NE-10 title game in a couple of weeks for the second straight season. For AIC to win on the road, they will need to move the ball like they have all season long. The defense will need to make plays and not allow Merrimack to feel comfortable in the pocket.

Merrimack struggled for the second straight week and fell on the road to New Haven by the final of 42-14. The Warriors allowed four straight scores to open the game and never recovered. The once powerful offense is struggling and not able to move the ball consistently. The defense is not able to slow down the opposing offense and it is a tough time for Merrimack right now. For Merrimack to win the game, they will need to control the dual threat of the AIC offense as well as finding a well to start clicking on offense against one of the best defenses in the league.

AIC loves playing at Merrimack and Saturday will be no different. They will control the game and move one step closer to defending their championship.

Prediction: AIC 42 Merrimack 17
