I will be previewing all of the NE-10 football teams over the next 10 days. I will roll out each team in my preseason poll from # 10 to # 1. The NE-10 will release the coaches' preseason poll on August 21st.

The season starts on September 3rd when defending champ LIU-Post travels to East Stroudsburg to open the 2015 season.

Here is my pick for #10 in the league in 2015:

Pace University Setters (1-10, 0-9 NE-10)

Coach: Andrew Rondeau, 2nd season (1-10)

Opening Game: September 5th vs. Ave Maria

2015 Roster

The Pace football has had little to celebrate over the past six years but a win during NE-10 championship weekend last November was just what the team needed. They battled to a 10-7 victory over Southern Connecticut and stopped a winless streak that dated back to 2011. But as coaches say, that was last season and we need to look ahead to the next game.

The offense will need to move the ball consistently and find a way to control the game clock. The quarterback position is up for grabs between five freshman right now. One of them will need to emerge as a game manager and help to lead the Pace offense. Senior Valentino Miles and junior Delaney Wallace saw the majority of the carries last year and will be called upon to grind out yards. Senior Kyle Johnson is the top returning pass catcher and will be the focus of the aerial attack for the Setters.

The Setters defense has some experience returning in key areas. Senior Tyler Owens will be the big guy on the front for Pace. Senior Jamir Gee will be the anchor in the secondary as he led the team last year in tackles and interceptions. Junior Matthew Corrie will be the main man for the linebackers and help to patrol the middle of the field.

Second year head coach Andy Rondeau has been telling the team that they need to get better each week. It took 11 weeks last year to realize that all of the hard work paid off but 2015 is a new season. They need to continue to get better each day and hope to build upon that success.
