I will be previewing all of the NE-10 football teams over the next 10 days. I will roll out each team in my preseason poll from # 10 to # 1. The NE-10 will release the coaches' preseason poll on August 21st.
The season starts on September 3rd when defending champ LIU-Post travels to East Stroudsburg to open the 2015 season.
Here is my pick for #9 in the league in 2015:
Southern Connecticut State University Owls (2-9, 2-7 NE-10)
Coach: Tom Godek, 2nd season (2-9)
Opening Game: September 5th vs. Gannon

2015 Roster
It has been an offseason of change for Southern Connecticut. After a couple of down seasons, the Owls are looking to get back to the top of the NE-10. The roster is changing and features a lot of new faces for the Owls.
The biggest question will be who is going to be the starting quarterback. Sophomore Ray Catapano finished last year as the starter but competition is still strong at that position. Senior Michael Eckrote and James Madison transfer Rob Nittolo saw the snaps in the spring game and expect to push Catapano for playing time. The offense was not up to the Owl standards of the past and who ever can move the team up and down the field will see the most playing time.
Also back on the roster is redshirt senior John Moscatel. He had a monster 2013 campaign but missed last year due to injuries. Seniors Donald Thomas and Robert Thomas will see the ball as well during the season. Sophomore Shaquan Hall is the top pass catcher back and will help to stretch the field for the Owls. The offensive line features the usual size but they will be the difference in getting Southern Connecticut into the end zone more than last year.
The defense welcomes back a lot of experience. Senior defensive lineman Kameron Tetter will be the anchor in the trenches for the Owls. Several red-shirt seniors like Mike Dunkley and Louis DiRienzo add experience to a defense that needs to dominate the line of scrimmage and not allow the big play.
Second year head coach Tom Godek is used to the Southern Connecticut tradition and is ready to put his stamp on the next chapter for the program. He removed the players that didn't fit his mold and is hoping that the Owls are back in contention this year.
