I will be previewing all of the NE-10 football teams over the next 10 days. I will roll out each team in my preseason poll from # 10 to # 1. The NE-10 released the coaches' preseason poll on August 21st.

The season starts on September 3rd when defending champ LIU-Post travels to East Stroudsburg to open the 2015 season.

Here is my pick for #3 in the league in 2015:

New Haven Chargers (6-5, 6-3 NE-10)

Coach: Chris Pincince, 2nd year (6-5)

Opening Game: September 5th vs Slippery Rock

2015 Schedule

2014 Stats

2015 Roster (Updated 8/31/15)

New Haven had some tough early 2014 losses that helped to shape their season. They were able to bounce back nicely and finish the season near the top of the standings. Rebuilding seasons are non-existent in New Haven and they have a goal of winning the league each year.

The offense will need to find a new quarterback. None of the quarterbacks on the roster have taken a snap for New Haven so that will be an early concern for the team. The backfield has plenty of experience and will feature juniors Lemar Thomas and Andre Anderson. Senior Ty Headen is the top receiver and capable of making big plays whenever he has the ball in his hands. The offensive line is always solid for the Chargers and should help the transition for the new quarterback.

The defense sees many familiar faces back from 2014. Senior linebacker Tyler Condit will be all over the field making plays for the Chargers. Senior Ralph Jonathas will be battling in the trenches from his defensive lineman position. The secondary is strong with the return of sophomores Miles Pease and Mark Clements.

Head coach Chris Pincince will need to settle his quarterback position early in the season and get that player to lead the offense. His defense is strong and will need to carry them early on. The Chargers have the pieces to make a run at the NE-10 title and that is a very familiar feeling in New Haven.
