I have been previewing all of the NE-10 over the past nine days. The coaches released their preseason poll on August 21st and training camps are in full swing right now.

The season starts on September 3rd when defending champ LIU-Post travels to East Stroudsburg to open the 2015 season.

Here is my pick for #2 in the league in 2015:

Long Island University-Post Pioneers (8-4, 7-2 NE-10)

Coach: Bryan Collins, 18th season (123-64)

Opening Game: September 3rd @ East Stroudsburg

LIU Post had a solid 2014 campaign as they won the NE-10 championship and participated in the playoffs. But that is all a distant memory as a new season and new expectations are in the air for the Pioneers.

LIU Post will have a new quarterback under center. Redshirt junior Matt Brennan is the leader to be the signal caller for the Pioneers. He has seem limited action over the past two seasons and has big shoes to fill. But whomever the quarterback is, they have a lot of weapons to play with. Junior David White and redshirt junior Mike Williams return to anchor the backfield for Post. Both are capable of making big plays and being difference makers. Junior Shane Hubbard will be the focal point of the aerial attack for LIU Post. Redshirt Kyle Ward will also help to stretch the field. Senior Sean Binckes is a force from his tight end position.

The defense welcomes back a lot of familiar faces. Redshirt junior defensive lineman Kenny Scotland will wreak havoc in the opposing backfield. Redshirt senior Brandon Cheney and redshirt junior Justin Ortiz will be patrol the middle of the field from their linebacking positions. Senior Jhaleel Oswald, junior Jared Chester and sophomore Richard Wright highlight a very talented secondary for the Pioneers.

Head coach Bryan Collins expects his teams to compete for league titles year in and year out. He knows that the target is on their back this year but has the talent and experience to win the title again. If he is able to get solid quarterback play, LIU Post will have a shot at defending their title in November.
