It is that time of the year again, football season. The teams have been on campus for a couple of weeks now and are preparing for the 2017 season.
It all kicks off on August 31st when Bentley travels to West Chester and St. Anselm plays at Wagner.

Here is my pick for #3 in the league in 2017:

Stonehill College Skyhawks (5-6, 4-5 NE-10)

Coach: Eli Gardner, 2nd year (5-6)

Opening Game: September 2nd @ Bloomsburg

2017 Schedule

2016 Stats

2017 Roster

Game to Watch: September 16th @ LIU Post

It might have been the greatest game that I have witnessed in person. Stonehill rallied in the fourth quarter and connected on a Hail Mary to win the game of undefeated teams. This game will test Stonehill to see if they are up to the task in the league this year.

Player to Watch: Matt Foltz, QB

The senior quarterback has been a main stay for the Skyhawks since his freshman season. He is the catalyst of the offense and his decision making will be key for Stonehill to compete for the title this year. He has several weapons back and will find more as the season goes on.

Unit to Watch: Defense

The Stonehill defense is the main reason that they have moved into the top half of the NE-10 over the past several years. They swarm the ball, make plays at big times and are just solid in every facet of the game. If they can play at a high level, the Skyhawks will compete with the top half of the league.

Outlook:

Second year head coach Eli Gardner has a young team but he has several experienced players in key positions. The offense can move the ball with ease and the defense will need to make third down stops to get off the field. If they do this week in and week out, it will be a very successful season in N. Easton.
