Two weeks to go and respect is still on the line for most teams.

Merrimack (3-5, 3-4 NE-10) @ LIU Post (6-2, 5-2 NE-10)

When: November 4th, 12:00 PM

All-Time Series: Post leads the series, 11-2-0

My Thoughts: Primed for plenty of points.

Merrimack defeated St. Anselm 41-3 behind a balanced offensive attack and a solid defense. The Warriors have played well at home and now need to replica those performances on the road like the first two weeks of the season. For Merrimack to win on the road, they will need to limit turnovers and score the football. The defense will need to slow down a dangerous offense and not allow them to break off big plays.

LIU Post handled Pace 41-14 and continue their second half surge. The Pioneers snuffed out a fake punt and took full control of the game after that. The offense continues to move the ball with ease and the defense stepped up control the Pace offense. For Post to win the game, they will need to continue their offensive rhythm and take care of the football. The defense will need to pressure the quarterback and force him to make bad decisions.

Post is the better team right now and will walk away with the win

Prediction: Post 38 Merrimack 10

# 14 Assumption (8-0, 7-0 NE-10) @ American International (2-6, 2-5 NE-10)

When: November 4th, 12:00 PM

All-Time Series: American International leads the series, 15-5-0

My Thoughts: Hard hitting affair expected.

Assumption has taken it up a notch as they crushed Stonehill 68-0. The Greyhounds again excelled in all three phases of the game and are playing at a different level than any team in the league right now. They are stacked and have taken care of business to date. For Assumption to win on the road, they will need to continue to play at that high level. All phases of the game will need to continue to excel and make plays.

American International dropped a tough game at New Haven 20-19. The Yellow Jackets took the lead late but allowed a big play that eventually led to the winning points. They are ready to put the month of October behind them as they lost all three games. For American International to win the game, they will need to play mistake free. The offense will need to make first downs and the defense will need to control the Assumption offense.

Assumption is playing at a different level right now.

Prediction: Assumption 45 American International 10

New Haven (6-2, 5-2 NE-10) @ Bentley (4-4, 4-3 NE-10)

When: November 4th, 1:00 PM

All-Time Series: New Haven leads the series, 7-1-0

My Thoughts: Best match-up of the weekend.

New Haven eked out another one point on their home turf. The latest victim was American International by the final of 20-19. The Chargers used a late drive to score the winning points and then made a defensive stand to win the game. For New Haven to win on the road, they will need to play with the lead. The offense will need to score early and not rely on the defense to make a late play.

Bentley dropped their second consecutive tough game to Southern Connecticut 45-42. The offense again was solid but the defense had no answer for the Owl running game. The young players on offense have put up impressive numbers and need to continue to lead the way. For Bentley to win the game, it will be on their defense. They have allowed 40 plus points the past two weeks in winnable games. They will need to make stops and allow the offense to continue to flourish.

New Haven is more battle tested and will again make a late play to win the game.

Prediction: New Haven 24 Bentley 20

Pace (3-5, 2-5 NE-10) @ Stonehill (4-4, 3-4 NE-10)

When: November 4th, 1:00 PM

All-Time Series: Stonehill leads the series, 13-9-0

My Thoughts: Both teams need the win after last week.

Pace was not able to slow down the Post offense in a 41-14 loss in their final home game of the season. They hung with the Pioneers for 15 minutes before a failed fake punt seemed to change the momentum of the game. The Setters were not able to generate much offense and will need to find their rhythm again. For Pace to win on the road, they will need to find the magic of the first half of the season. Success in all phases of the game and just make some plays.

Stonehill lost to Assumption 68-0. The Skyhawks struggled the entire game and might never want to discuss their trip to Worcester again. They had no answer for the top team in the league and need to put it behind them. For Stonehill to win the game, they will need to replica the magic of the Bentley victory. An offense that moves the ball with ease and a defense that makes plays at big times.

Stonehill will find a way to rebound and grab the win.

Prediction: Stonehill 35 Pace 17

Southern Connecticut (3-5, 3-4 NE-10) @ St. Anselm (1-7, 1-6 NE-10)

When: November 4th, 1:00 PM

All-Time Series: Southern Connecticut leads the series, 14-3-0

My Thoughts: Close games in recent memory.

Southern Connecticut used the ground and pound approach to defeat Bentley 45-42. The Owls have 454 yards on the ground and just moved the ball with ease. Four different runners helped to move the chains and find the end zone frequently. For Southern Connecticut to win on the road, they will need to repeat that formula. The offensive line will need to dominate the trenches and the runners will need to find the holes.

St. Anselm struggled on the road in a 41-3 loss at Merrimack. The Hawks had no answers for the Warriors after coming off their first win of the season. They were not able to generate much offensively and the defense had no answers. For St. Anselm to win the game, they will need to find a way to move the ball and control the clock. The defense will need to make tackles and not be on the field for 70 plus plays.

Southern Connecticut is playing well right now and will grind out the victory.

Prediction: Southern Connecticut 27 St. Anselm 13
