Football season is here. Teams reported for training camp a couple of weeks ago and have been preparing for the 2018 season.

It kicks off August 30th as Southern Connecticut travels to Gannon, Pace is at Millersville and Bentley hosts West Chester.

Here is my pick for #10 in the league in 2018:

American International College Yellow Jackets (2-8, 2-7 NE-10)

Coach: Art Wilkins, 25th year (146-104)

Opening Game: September 8th @ LIU Post

2018 Schedule

2017 Stats

2018 Roster (updated 8/23/18)

Game to Watch: September 15th vs. Pace

It is the home opener for American International and they look to avenge a tough loss to Pace last season on the road. The Yellow Jackets struggled on both sides of the ball last year and need to find consistency with their offense early in the season.

Player to Watch: Samad Davila, RB

Davila was the one of the more consistent members of the offense a season ago. He led the team in rushing with 740 yards and four scores in 2017. Davila will be called upon to grind out yards and move the chains for American International.

Unit to Watch: Offensive Line

It has been the one of the hallmarks of the program over the years. Big, strong and tough young men in the trenches are the key to the success of the offense for American International. They give the time for the quarterback to throw the ball down field and then open holes for the running backs.

Twenty-five-year head coach Art Wilkins has seen his team struggle the past three years and needs to rally the team to exceed expectations this year. It has been over 20 years since the Yellow Jackets have seen these struggles. They have a young roster and need to play beyond their years to contend for the league title.
