Football season is here. Teams reported for training camp a couple of weeks ago and have been preparing for the 2018 season.

It kicks off August 30th as Southern Connecticut travels to Gannon, Pace is at Millersville and Bentley hosts West Chester.

Here is my pick for #7 in the league in 2018:

Pace University Setters (3-7, 2-7 NE-10)

Coach: Andrew Rondeau, 5th season (5-38)

Opening Game: August 30th @ Millersville

Game to Watch: September 15th @ American International

This is the game that started their solid first half of the season. They defeated the Yellow Jackets under the lights for their first league victory in a long time. This game will be their first league road game and hopefully start to build some momentum for the Setters.

Player to Watch: Jhalen Bien-Aime, RB

The redshirt senior has improved over each of his years at Pace. He has been the workhouse for the offense and has the strength to grind out a short yard situation besides breaking off a long touchdown run. His ability to control the clock for the Setters will be key once again this season.

Unit to Watch: Defensive

The Pace defense was solid in the first half of the season. Besides the Assumption game, they kept the team in the game and allowed the offense to make enough plays to win. In the second half of the season, they struggled, and the Setters lost their final five games. If they are able to make tackles on third down and get off the field, Pace will be a dangerous team this year.

Fifth year head coach Andy Rondeau has made progress each of his first four years at Pace. He was the early candidate for coach of the year after defeating Bentley last September. His team was not able to find their groove in the second half and is hoping to have consistency for 10 games this year.
