This game will be a litmus test for two new head coaches. UVA-Wise hired Dane Damron, former Offensive Coordinator for Eastern Kentucky University. Damron will look to improve an offense that ranked near the bottom of many offensive categories within the conference. The Tusculum Pioneers have Jerry Odom, former Associate Head Coach in charge of Defense of FCS-Jacksonville University. Both were hired in December and had a full off-season to recruit, game plan and prepare for the season. When UVA-Wise has possession, two new coaches will be showcasing their work.

Both coaches will have to prove themselves. I have to take history and home-field advantage in this game.

Looking at that GSC vs. Urbana prediction, it is clear you did your homework! I love seeing someone back to writing about the MEC! I also love, "a can of polish away form being an elite team in the conference." I miss those elite days. Despite losing lots of key contributors form a season ago (the Pioneers return only one starter on offense), they may be out to surprise some opponents in 2016... Maybe...
