First, I have to begin by wishing West Liberty's quarterback, Dakota Conwell, a speedy recovery following his injury in Thursday night's game against the Fairmont State Falcons. He just drove the offense down inside the Falcons' 10-yard line when his helmet came off of his head. Naturally he was expected to come out of the game due to the helmet coming off but that was the least of his issues. Every time his name was mentioned, the situation was worse. First, he had a cut as the announcers could clearly see blood from some kind of injury. Next, the report was that he was enroute to the hospital to get stitches for the cut. Finally it came out that he was having surgery to basically re-attach his ear.

Regardless of school affiliation, I am sure we all agree that no one wants to see any player injured on the field and we wish them all well. Dakota, we hope to see you back on the field soon and in good repair.
