Fairmont State remains in the hunt for a MEC crown and post-season berth following a balanced win over the UVA-Wise Cavaliers. The Falcons had a balanced offense with 271 passing yards and 245 rushing yards; and a strong offense was balanced with a strong defense that held the Cavaliers to three first downs in the first half, including five consecutive three-and-outs following their opening possession. Fairmont State out-gained UVA-Wise 310-73 in the first half. UVA-Wise also failed to connect on all three field goal attempts.
Fairmont State pitched a shut-out through three quarters leading 24-0. Falcon quarterback Takwan Crews-Naylor (17-26-271-2-1) completed touchdown passes to Alquawn Vickers (6-45-1) and Javon Hayes (5-42-1) while Shawn Harris (3-110-0) led in receiving yards. Khalik Hamlin (16-109-0) carried the load for the rushing game, while it was Tyree Randolph (9-57-1) who scored their rushing touchdown.
Fairmont State has a short week to prepare as they host undefeated Notre Dame College on this coming Thursday night.

Know what you mean about the "inbetween" in Texas, I drove from SA to Big Bend NP & back one year. First time I was ever on a road for approx 70 miles with only one thing on the road, a Border Patrol station about halfway.
