After many years of enjoying all of the great content, information, scores and more on D2football.com, I have decided to join the ranks of columnist/blogger for 2012. I am thrilled to be a part of many great writers and staff members who add so much to the D2 game. These blogs and this site are a HUGE asset to Division II football on all levels and I hope to add more positive content to it.

I am currently the Director of Broadcasting and Assistant SID for Wingate, along with serving as play-by-play for the football broadcasts among others. I know some may be apprehensive of a conference member serving as the SAC columnist but I can assure you I take all of my work seriously and will cover all teams equally. Trust me, I am a big time SAC football fan just like you. I enjoy arguments, banter, and long talks about football. Now, I can't assure you I will be as good as Scott or Paul, but my efforts and columns will be more than four or five lines each week (sorry for the jab MB).

As for what my work will entail this year during the blog. I will regularly participate in conversations in the SAC forum and other places. As I said, I keep up with SAC football just as much as the next guy. I will post the weekly blog/column usually on Thursday but this being a crazy first week, I will post the CN and MH game previews tomorrow (Thursday) and the Saturday game previews on Friday then go back to normal next week. You will notice that each week in the column I plan on adding the totals from the Weekly Pick'em from the fans. I will also add a spread to the games, based on records, where the game is, and last years game among other things. And yes sometimes I will pick a different team but the spread will take into account all the variables. And I will not pick the score for Wingate games. I hope you understand that but I will give analysis on their games just like any other one. I will be terrible at picking games anyway so who cares if I don't for WU. I just hope I don't finish last in the Pick'Em winning percentage come November.

Also, on Monday's (except this week because of Labor Day), will write a recap column (not copy and paste one from SAC) on games and give out player of the week stuff and whatnot. I would just rather break that stuff away from regular column. And finally, the part I am most excited about, adding a weekly podcast to the blog/site. Each week I will have an interview with two SAC coaches. I will post those in middle of the week as well. All topics will be discussed with the coaches as well as their previous/upcoming games. I already recorded the first two and will post shortly. Hope you enjoy those.

As I have said, and I hope you can tell, that I am ready for the 2012 season and ready to take the reigns of SAC blogger. Feel free to agree, disagree, or be indifferent from my opinions. I will enjoy and respect all of them. Send me emails or messages and follow me on twitter as well ( @RyanBrown_PxP ) for more banter and interactions. Let's have a great year in the SAC.
