Here's a thread for the women's side of things.
This is also a split Regional due to Gannon being the No. 1 seed in both men's and women's.
(Played in Erie)
West Virginia State (21-10) at Gannon (32-2) - Very tall task for WVSU. Gannon is 15-1 at home and hasn't lost a game in more than two months. Prediction: Gannon. Big. Knights -12.5
California (23-8) vs. Lock Haven (28-3) - These two have played twice, with the Bald Eagles winning both. The second meeting came last week in the PSAC semifinals (at Lock Haven), with the home team holding on, 54-51. Round 3 goes to a neutral floor. Prediction: Beating Jess Strom three times in the same season is about impossible, right? Vulcans get revenge. Cal -1.5
(Played in WV)
West Chester (24-6) at Fairmont State (26-5) - West Chester went a perfect 17-0 at home this year. Unfortunately, this game is a long, long way from the streets of Philly. Fairmont State has been solid all year. Many didn't have them pegged in the No. 2 slot, but the Falcons had strong metrics. Prediction: Not an easy Round 1 game for FSU. The Rams have been playing really well the past month, and gave Gannon all it could handle a week ago in a 79-73 loss. Prediction: Joe Retton Arena isn't an easy place for visitors to win. But, the home team better be ready. Falcons escape ... but, not by much. FSU -5.5
Fayetteville State (27-2) vs. IUP (21-7) - The mystery game of the day. Fayetteville State has a shiny record, but its strength of schedule is highly questionable (as the committee agreed and put them in the No. 3 slot). IUP can look incredible at times (they have a win over Gannon). IUP can also look boarderline terrible at times. Prediction: The PSAC West was incredibly difficult this season. IUP has played a much more difficult schedule. However, the Crimson Hawks have issues putting together complete games. Don't even think of betting this game. In fact, run. IUP -2.5
