Sad that back in the good ol' days there would've been a a full page or two of discussion on this thread by now.

Obviously as an Augie fan I have no complaints about how the awards turned out this year. I find it interesting (but not shocking by any means) that Dylan LeBrun won Defensive Player of the Year but wasn't named 1st or 2nd Team All-NSIC. That being said, I would gladly take his defensive effort in shutting down guys like Matt Cartwright any day of the week for this team, whether he's scoring enough points to earn all-conference honors or not.

The only other argument I'd throw out there is for Jameson Bryan. Leading the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio by a large margin and is technically 3rd in the country in assist-to-turnover margin (he just barely got edged out of 2nd recently by some guy from a Puerto Rican team who only has 17 total assists in 3 games). He's also shooting 42% from three and has 33 steals on the year. Obviously those aren't eye-popping stats and I get why he didn't make it on one of the two all-conference teams, but I think there's an argument to be made that he's almost as essential to our team as Riemersma in terms of pushing the ball up the floor, making smart plays, etc.

Either way, it's been a few years since the end-of-the-season awards had so much navy and gold and it's fun to see again. Just hoping we go a few rounds (or more) deep into the postseason now.

Kenny Byers well deserved. Just a reminder how hard it is to make all conference in a 16 team league. Lots of good players left off the list.

Imagine telling someone before the season that a Wayne St Wildcat would be 1st team all conference and it wasn't Jordan Janssen.

yeah him being injured probably was the reason. Last week in Marshall he played on one leg and was still very good. what a stud

That would be surprising with the big men they have coming in. But who knows? It's all possible these days.
