Reminder SNU is doing all this with their best player hurt. Fingers crossed on a January return.

There's a couple candidates for the best player at SNU, but last year's leading scorer, yes. The backcourt has stepped up big time to fill in so far, hopefully things fit together well when she comes back.

I don't feel like Central Missouri is really playing their best ball so far, mostly because nobody they've played has required it of them. Hoping Pitt St brings another level out of them on Saturday. Pitt lacks a little depth, but there may not be a ceiling on what those starters can accomplish - Pyle had 41 against UCO this weekend.

I'm not sure anybody else in the region really wows me. MoWest, FHSU, Northwest, MoSo, Kearney(?) all look good enough but not elite. Same for Harding. I like Henderson but depth is an issue, cost them against Southern Ark - I haven't seen much else of SAU or any NWOSU, but they really don't have any good wins. I don't know what's happening up North - Duluth is definitely still solid, Northern State looks decent. Minnesota State is much improved since getting players back, but the early season top-10 rankings still seem high to me. I've liked what I've seen from CSP the few times I've watched. There's just some weird losses to average teams up there that raise doubts.

Pretty much everybody listed in the paragraph above is a good D2 team, but I think there's probably a gap between the top three and the rest of the pack that wasn't there last year. Maybe some of those NSIC teams are better than I'm giving credit for, maybe one of those MIAA teams separates themselves from the pack. Hopefully it at least means there are a lot of teams still battling for tournament spots in February.

Hoping so as well for SNU.

I could see that middle of the MIAA kind of cannibalize itself and not end up with as many bids as a result. NSIC could be the same way.

Great game in Warrensburg today as Pitt State takes down UCM 101-93.

Jennies had a 20 point lead late in the 3rd.
In the last 15:18 (:18 of the 3rd plus the 4th and OT) of the game Pitt outscored the Jennies 51-23.
In that time frame Pitt shot 89% (16/18) from the field, while the Jennies shot 38% (10/26).
