Maryville MBB Hires New Coach

I didn't realize that Coach Carroll was no longer at the helm, but Maryville has a new men's basketball coach:

Maryville University has announced that St. Louis-native Marc Stricker has been named head coach of the Saints' men's basketball program. He graduated from CBC High School and returns to his hometown after spending the 2016-17 season at Oral Roberts University. Stricker previously worked two seasons for the Maryville basketball program as an assistant coach.

So you fire a guy and then hire a young replacement with no collegiate head coaching experience that likely learned most of what he knows about coaching from the guy you just fired?

The school said they did a long and exhaustive search for replacements.
