  • New regional rankings are out!

After all the talk, the only thing that matters is the west regional rankings. Here they are.
    1. Western Oregon
    2. Cal Baptist
    3. Cal Poly Pomona
    4. Dixie St
    5. Ucsd
    6. PT Loma
    7. Chico st.
    8. St Martin's
    9. San Marcos
    10. Azusa Pacific
    11. Concordia
    12. Western Washington

Onto to the final week. Have no beef with the rankings. Azusa Pacific still has a good shot if they make a deep run in the conference tourney. St Martin's needs to get to the finals of the gnac to be comfortable at minimum. Western and Concordia obviously have to win their conference tourney.

As for the CCAA, San Marcos and UCSD should sweep this weekend. Cal Poly Pomona has a tough one on Saturday to clinch the the CCAA outright vs rival San Bernardino. Finally Chico st. Has a tough one in the bay against San Francisco st. Should be fun!

    Thoughts?

Thanks Billy. Can't argue with the rankings they look very reasonable. The GNAC is going to have to scramble to get two teams in.

Is the league just down this year? Seems like western Washington isn't being respected by the committee this year

I think the problem for WWU is that they didn't play anyone of consequence in non-conference. Their only OOC game against anyone else in the top 12 is UCSD -- which they lost at home. Being the only team to hang an L on Western Oregon is great, but only goes so far. For biased comparison, Azusa, who is #10 despite a slightly worse record, won at Cal Poly and beat UCSD on a neutral floor, and their losses include trips to Western Oregon and San Marcos.

I looked at WWU's schedule, some Native American colleges, maybe two of them; some Canadian schools; losses to average California teams, and so forth. The back-to-back home losses to St. Martin's and a depleted SPU team did them in. I haven't checked St. Martin's schedule.
