  • Wolves at Oregon tonight

Ducks, I believe, are the pre-season favorites to win the Pac-12 this year. Tough opener for WOU, but they've played them solidly in the past.

Lot of newcomers, a few quality returnees like Hawken and Evans. Should be interesting to see how they do:

Wolves fall by 19; one player, Lubom, in double figures for WOU. Wolves down 2 at half; Minute Bol's kid for UO too much for Western.

Interesting scores coming in from the first week of exhibitions against DI and NAIA schools: http://www.gnacsports.com/mbasketball/

Later this week we will start seeing a bunch of really good match-ups for west region teams. Notably absent from any west region competitions is WOU, Tsull. Later this month they play a trio of RMAC schools, but as far as I can see on the GNAC schedule, no west region teams. Seems strange that Shaw would purposely set up the preseason like that, knowing how valuable those in-region games are for rankings late in the season...

Looks like MSUB played UNLV really tough and SPU played a good DI game too. I'm looking forward to seeing the Nooks in action tomorrow night. First season in a long time where they have 9 returners on the roster and yet, no freakin idea about what to expect tomorrow. UAA games were interesting too. I liked seeing Adams start on Saturday!

Yeah, I don't know the ins and outs of scheduling to comment on WOU's slate. It does look like the Hawaii trip will feature some key West Region opponents. Fairly new roster in Monmouth, it will be interesting to see how they do.

        * Wish our women's program was a little better, picked pretty low in the GNAC.
