MSU-Billings deserved the win tonight, fought back from a halftime deficit, made some key 3's to pull away in the second half.

As a Wolves fan, this game stunk. The team has little feel to the game outside of Omlid and Kulich. Some of the new transfers bring nothing to the table but 3-point jacking and bricking. They don't play defense and are selfish on offense. I know last year was special and unique, but I'm really missing TEAM basketball right now. Shaw oversold the farm on all these transfers, guys who want to be "the man" in Monmouth, instead of playing team basketball. One guy really stands out in this garbage ... I won't call him out.

Brutal, ugly loss ... but MSU-B deserved the win, they actually know how to play team basketball.

Hey, do you know where Nestell (sp) is/went? He's a kid who got a lot of minutes off the bench at the Elite 8 last year after not playing that much in the regular season. He was gonna be a 4 year kid there and he looked pretty good on the big stage there...

I agree, MSUB deserved that. They shared the ball, let everyone get in on the fun. They probably really wanted it after Concordia got them at home last week. Now everyone in the GNAC is 1-1 except for WWU and SFU. Transition year! And they are a prime example of a team that has grown a lot of those players and then brought some new ones in. Who knows if they'll be good, but if they can find some consistency, they might make some trouble for teams this year.

I am starting to agree with you on the WOU team this year. I'd like to see some of the players from last year carrying through with that identity. They are just a very different team this year and they don't seem real secure in it. Omlid is always great with the ball and away from it and I liked Kulich tonight too. Doesn't mean they won't figure things out though. Could be a very different tune that you are singing by mid January!

Last time I saw Nestell he was on the bench in street clothes with 10 other guys. At least he knows how to share the basketball. I'm convinced that a few transfers are good; wholesale is not. The WOU shot selection outside of a few guys is just brutal. I didn't expect them to win the conference this year, but I expected them to play better. I don't understand the need to take a zillion transfer guards in the off-season and be undersized underneath. (Yes, I know the Cali JC post transfer didn't show up.) Luckily Omlid and Kulich play way above their heights or the Wolves would be in trouble. Too many guards have the same skills. They are maddening to watch.

* MSU-B hit 7 of 12 three-pointers in the 2nd half, the freaking transfer guards flat-out refused to go out and defend. That stuff is just effort, as in lack of. :at-wits-end:

* WOU also made 21 percent (3 of 14) from the 3-point line, including 12 percent (1 of 8) in the 2nd half. Maybe it's time to quit jacking 3's until you start making 3's. Again ... :at-wits-end:
