  • Excellent games tonight

Alaska Anchorage at NNU: 2nd place NNU vs. 5th place UAA. NNU is really tough at home. NNU point guard Megwa and NNU forward Arms are two of the best in the conference, very tough to stop either one.

WOU at SPU: Both teams tied for 3rd in the GNAC. I saw the first one, WOU by 2 in Monmouth, and the Wolves received a few fortunate calls down the stretch. SPU has won four straight, will be tough for WOU to win this one.

SFU at Billings: Two 6th-place teams fighting it out, and as we've seen, both are capable of having big games and beating top tier GNAC teams. Should be a great game.

Concordia at St. Martin's: On paper, looks like a St. Martin's runaway, but Concordia has beaten WOU this year and had many competitive games.

Alaska at CWU: Both teams are struggling this year, but it still should be competitive. Brighter days ahead for both programs.

    Re: Excellent games tonight

Agree that the games should be interesting tonight and really, from here on out. A lot riding on each one now. The postponement of the Tuesday game this week of WWU @ SFU due to weather will certainly add some elements of excitement to the last week too. Presently those 2 teams are tied for 6th with MSUB, but WWU and SFU will not have to play 3 games in the last week of league play, so it'll be a marathon finish for them! I also agree, that UAF @ CWU is not the premier game tonight, but it does represent an interesting game, in that most fans in Ellensburg are more familiar with Sparling, now UAF's coach than they are their own coach in Rinta. It will probably mean a lot to Sparling if he can get a win tonight-perhaps will mean more to him than anyone else tonight, particularly if it were to come down to tactics. UAF is looking a little less miserable and with the life sucked out of them the last few games (despite the blowout at home from SPU) and have dug deep into their bench now after losing so many to grades and injuries and illnesses, so any win these days will be a major team-win. Assistant coach Brown has also mellowed with the season and seems to be more in touch with what's needed right now...
