  • OT- College World Series

CWS is set. Should be a doozy.

Top ranked Wake Forest opens with Stanford. What a crazy ending they had against Texas last night.
The Bayou Bengals of LSU open with the Volunturds of Knoxville Correctional Center.

2nd ranked Florida gets to start pool play with the Hoos of Virginia. Great uniform matchup.
Then the matchup everybody predicted: TCU and Oral Roberts!! LOL

It's cool to see such a small school like Oral Roberts there after making a Sweet 16 run in March Madness in 2021. Their athletic budget is only about $12M compared to TCU's $114.4M.
    Go GSC and Roar LIONS!!

The most "Texas Gonna Texas" moment of the spring. Four players all lost a fly ball which turned into the game winning single.

All that orange between three of the four teams.

TCU had been struggling midway through the season before getting hot at the right time, sweeping through the Big 12 tournament, the Fayetteville Regional at Arkansas and hosting last weekend's Super Regional in Fort Worth. A lot of TCU fans, like myself, didn't think the Frogs would make the tournament to begin with, let alone get to Omaha. Oral Roberts had a 21 game winning streak which was snapped at Super Regionals at Oregon on Friday night.

Observations of baseball as compared to football and other sports:

Wouldn't it be entertaining to see coaches of other sports wearing their team's uniforms on the sidelines like baseball coaches do? Just visualize Mack Brown, Nick Saban, Terry Bowden, or even former Coach Charlie Weis leading their teams onto the fields wearing complete football uniforms. What about college basketball coaches such as Tom Izzo, Kelvin Sampson, Rick Barns, or even the late and former coaches John Wooden and Dean Smith leading their teams onto the basketball courts wearing basketball uniforms, and don't even bring up some swimming and wrestling coaches.

Also, try visualizing other sports opting for the big post game celebration tradition baseball has of 'piling on' on the field after winning a big game. I really wouldn't care to see that in basketball, football, swimming, track and field, wrestling, golf, etc.

Chewing and spitting is also something you see widespread in baseball (both players and coaches) but (while it could be entertaining) it's not something you commonly see being done in college basketball, swimming, wrestling, soccer, bowling, or (other than a rare occasional older football coach) in college football.

Congratulations to LSU for winning the well deserved college baseball championship, but how about showing a bit more class in the future by not pointing at your ring finger while a game is still being played.

They learned that from Angel Reese.

Who learned from Joe Burrow....and a ton of other athletes who have done it. Doesn't bother me at all.

I guess more and more people are immune to the new trend of classlessness. Too bad, the growing jester of pointing at your ring finger in front of a disappointed opponents who have also tried to win, is just as bad a using another finger in their face to get your point across.
