Quick note regarding the game between Johnson C. Smith and Fort Valley State tonight (Wednesday 12/13) - it is the inaugural Florida Beach Bowl, the last of four D2 bowl games this season. (The other three D2 bowl games were held on December 1st or 2nd.) Both teams are 7-3 entering the game.

It looks like the Keiser (FL)/Northwestern (IA) NAIA championship game is available for free streaming on ESPN3.

As I put the game on, Northwestern was just scoring a touchdown. Keiser leads 24-21 about halfway through the 4th quarter.

Update - Keiser returned the ensuing kickoff, a squib kick, for a touchdown, to take a 31-21 lead.

Keiser upsets Northwestern 31-21 in the NAIA championship game. It is Keiser's first NAIA national title.

The #1 teams in D2, D3, and NAIA all played in their classification's championship game, entering those games undefeated. All three teams (Colorado School of Mines in D2, Northwestern (IA) in NAIA, North Central (IL) in D3) lost. All three teams that won (Harding in D2, Keiser in NAIA, Cortland in D3) captured their program's first national title in their current classification.

Beware Michigan and South Dakota State!
