Good on Bowman Gray for getting this event. But from a watching on TV standpoint, these ultra flat 1/4 mile races are ultra boring...I put the NASCAR "race" at the LA Coliseum in the same class. The main will have 23 cars lined up all the way around the track. Effectively it will be about as interesting as watching rush hour traffic. All the while you have the paid TV commentators telling us how ultra interesting and ultra competitive and ultra historic the race is and how the drivers are "jacked" to be in the race.

I thought it turned out pretty good. The WSSU band did a pretty good job with the National Anthem, and the stadium's stands looked good being fully packed.

It was a great event for the city and school. They brought our band in and there were events setup on campus.

I give credit to NASCAR for trying to get back to its roots with this event and the All-Star race being in North Wilkesboro.
