OHIO ALL STATE QB to start for VULCANS vs ODU

Just curious if any fans knowledgeable about OHIO scholastic football can fill in the gaps as to how an apparently high quality local player ends up in PA. Grades, attitude, legal problems ??? NOAH MITCHELL just seems like such a logical selection to play for a number of FCS or D2 programs in the Buckeye state that it feels like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Anything???

Mitchell went to the prep school because he was hoping for D1 interest, but didn't have a great season there. He chose the prep school so that he could put on some weight, since he ascribed the lack of interest from bigger schools to his thin frame, and said he'd be hitting the weight room and trying to bulk up. He had some recruiting interest from Cal, LEC and Ohio Dominican, but that was about it, so he made Cal his choice.

Interesting because all the speculation was about grades. Glad to hear it was his choice. Curious thing about thin 6'4" QBs is they tend to bulk up pretty quickly with good conditioning coaches. Last time a similar player ended up at CALU was a skinny 6'4" lineman named ERIC KUSH. If you catch the BEARS opener keep an eye on #64 starting at right guard.
