OT: WLU Softball Claims #1 Seed in NCAA Atlantic Region

Congrats to the West Liberty University softball team for claiming the MEC title and the #1 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship. As the #1 seed, WLU will serve as host venue starting this Thursday through Sunday.

The MEC actually captured the top two seeds and hosting rights for both sub-regionals. And lost both opening round games. One other MEC team likely to advance in the winner's bracket today though.

They fell 3-0 in the first game of the regional final against Shepherd. They played a ton the past three days so not surprising they finally ran out of steam. I have a feeling they win the regional in the next 2-3 years

Credit to both West Liberty and WV State to fight their way through the loser's bracket on Friday. But that extra game and extra innings makes it tough.
