"Do you feel the force of the wind, the slash of the rain? Go face them and fight them, be savage again!"
Weather was the story in Week 10, as wind-riven rain and cold sent scores and playbooks into the trash. LIU-Post was the highest-scoring team this weekend, managing only 21 points. We are also one week closer to a possible NE10 championship showdown.
Last week's winners were:
1. New Haven over Stonehill 12-7 - Defense ruled this one as the Chargers didn't even think to attempt an extra point or field goal.
2. Merrimack over AIC 14-0 - A couple early touchdowns were the margin of victory.
3. Pace over SCSU 14-7, 1 OT - The last time Pace had at least 5 wins in a season? It was 1999, when they finished with a 6-4 record, the third of three straight 5- or 6-win seasons in the early days of the NE10.
4. LIU-Post over Assumption 21-7 - The Post defense is strong, very strong.
5. Bentley over St. Anselm 20-16 - Bentley has that winning streak they were hoping for all season.
The Pick'Em standings are now:
The Week 10 schedule is all held on Saturday, November 3:
1. LIU-Post at SCSU, 12:00 PM - Owls looking to spoil Post's undefeated season.
2. Assumption at Bentley, 12:00 PM - It's been a while since Assumption has dealt with a losing streak, a feeling they want to get rid of in short order.
3. Stonehill at AIC, 12:00 PM - Both teams have struggled this season and need a win
4. Merrimack at Pace, 12:00 PM - Pace tries to match their 1999 mark of 6 wins.
