Refs missing/not calling obvious penalties is becoming a recurring theme this year and I see it posted often. It's becoming a serious issue. I saw at the Rock game today, a Mercyhurst player grabbed a Rock player by the facemask, then tackled him to the ground, all of this was way after the whistle blew in front of FOUR officials. A flag was thrown on the ROCK player. -
It was the right call.
According to the rule book, "A player who makes contact with the kicker or holder after touching the kick is not charged with running into or roughing the kicker."
The player who blocked the kick is the same one who hit Sarka -- No. 3 Jermal Martin.
In other words, it's a penalty if a player other than the one who blocks the kick hits the kicker. Otherwise, you'd have guys drilling the kicker every time someone on their team blocks a kick.
